Do you have a daily schedule that you go by or do you just go with the flow? How do you prioritize different projects to ensure that they are completed in a timely manner?

As a music business entrepreneur/producer/songwriter, it is important that I have a daily schedule so that I can be as productive as possible. Because I engage in so many projects, I have to divide my time between handling the business of music, songwriting, music production, meetings, travel, networking , research and marketing.
To prioritize, I may designate multiple tasks to a certain day of the week (for example: on Monday's I may spend the day working exclusively on marketing and social media activities, Tuesday's the day may be divided between returning calls, consulting, emailing, sending out letters, getting permission slips, etc.) You get the idea... Friday's are usually a day to plan for the next week.I try to reserve studio time for weekends when I am actually getting ready to record vocals, music etc.
The most important thing is to always plan your day and never allow anyone to waste your time...

My goal is to get signed as a music creative producer/songwriter. I can sing as well but I'd rather stay behind the scenes, any advice for someone like myself?

Smart move! In order to get signed as a music creative producer/songwriter for a label, one of the first things that they will look at is your catalog of songs and production credits. If you do not have this, it would be in your best interest to put that together first. If you have any experience as a producer on other artists projects that would also work in your favor while pitching yourself. Allowing others to record your material is also a great place to start. Most importantly, make sure that you research the label's artists, genres, etc. Inquire about an intern program and if any positions are open. You might wanna try getting your feet wet at an Indie label first. Good Luck!
